Vici-Award for Moon-Water research

Wim van Westrenen, member of the Board of Advise of EARTH is one of the 31 scientist who have received a Vici grant from the Talent Scheme of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). The grant amounts 1.5 million euros for research and building up a research group over the next five years. The grant is awarded", according to the NWO website for "Even though the moon is completely dry now, moonstone research has revealed that the moon did contain water four billion years ago. This project will investigate how much moon water there was, when this ended up in the moon and when it disappeared. This will give a new view on the earliest water cycle of our own planet, where all of the indications have disappeared as a result of erosion and plate tectonics.
